This month, there was good news from the Michigan Supreme Court (“MSC”) for Michigan home sellers whose homes have declined in value since they purchased them. In a welcome decision, the Majority clarified a confusing element of “Exemption (u)” under the State Real Estate Transfer Tax Act (“SRETTA”).

- CFPB Finalizes Official Extension of Mortgage Disclosure Rules Effective October 3rd
The Consumer and Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) has made it official: new mortgage disclosure requirements will be effective October 3rd. The rule requires easier-to-use mortgage disclosure forms that clearly lay out the terms of a mortgage for a homebuyer.
